Senior Benefits Resource, staff referral guide
When coverage questions need a closer look.
For social workers, case managers, community health workers, pharmacies and veterans organizations serving people with Medicare in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
Offer an introduction when someone:
- Receives a notice that a Medicare plan is ending or changing.
- Faces an unexpected prescription cost or needs help understanding Extra Help.
- Has a Medicaid change that may affect Medicare coverage choices or costs.
- Has a chronic condition and wants to check eligibility for a Chronic Special Needs Plan.
- Uses VA healthcare and wants to understand Medicare options.
- Needs help checking doctors, hospitals or prescriptions before choosing coverage.
Make the connection
Ask whether the person would like to speak with Mark. With their permission, make an introduction or arrange a three-way call. You can also share https://seniorbenefitsresource.com/refer so they can request help themselves. Staff do not need to recommend a plan or determine eligibility.
What Mark does
Reviews the person’s questions, checks available coverage and enrollment options, and helps identify the plan, pharmacy or agency that needs to resolve a discrepancy. Help continues after enrollment. The responsible plan or agency confirms coverage corrections and assistance-program eligibility.
There is never a charge for my assistance or advice. There is no obligation to change plans. SBR provides Medicare insurance assistance and does not handle Medicaid-only applications.
